I made this some time ago, and I'm not a hundred per cent satisfied, but hey.

What I also made is an inspo tumblr for all things dieselpunk/ world building/ writing/ pictures of my characters' lookalikes/ more dieselpunk stuff, partly to clean up my obcenely long list of favourites and put them to good use, and partly because it's pretty.

On either side the river lie...
Happy birthday, @bluestocking!

I hope you had a great day in the real world, what with it being a Sunday and the Once Upon A Time Season Finale (it was, wasn't it?) and I also hope that you got lovely cupcakes and loads of good wishes and maybe a pet unicorn!

This is, as you have most certainly already deduced, you as the Lady of Shalott, gently floating along the river thanks to your fairy magic. Guided by the dancing fen fires that obey your every wish, you're making your enchanting arrival at the shore, where your Prince Charming/ Lancelot is waiting to give you his hand. (I do have a slight suspicion as to what he might look like... ;))
And of course, this story ends all happily ever after.

I do hope you like it! :)

My heart's a stereo...

My heart's a stereo...
A young schoolgirl-Rox, aged seventeen, because I love to imagine a sassy, black clad, know-it-all, coquettish girl parading the halls of an ancient ladies' college.

And also Sid, aged about twenty, because young Henry is such a sweet piece of sugar. Le sigh.
I love him as Stephen in I Capture The Castle, although my heart breaks for this character everytime he appears. Literally. I read the book recently, no need to mention I lovedlovedloved it and found so much of myself in Cassandra.
But really, poor Stephen.

Poor Sid, too. His life has not been easy. Also, they don't know each other yet, I just wanted an excuse to use that picture.
Gawd I want tp pinch his rosy cheeks.

Also, I should be heading to a friend's birthday now, but for the life of me I can't decide on what to wear and I've been leafing through my clothes for an hour now. No kidding. An hour. Gah.

Camp NaNo?

Camp NaNo?
I am considerng doing Camp NaNo in June. (Which is basically NaNoWriMo just in the summer, and a little smaller.)

Okay, actually I am considering rebelling in June, which means I won't be writing a completely new novel from scratch, but rather I'll try and make use of the deadlines, guilt-monkeys and general enthusiam to get some editing done, because I can't seem to get around to it really.

Soooo. I'm not sure yet If I'll manage, seeing that June conveniently fills that little space between mid-terms and finals, plus I'll be away on a festival for a few days and all, but I want to try it so that maybe, just maybe, I can have another run in August.
(Camp NaNo has two runs; you can either do June, or August, or both. You can use your NaNoWriMo account or create a new one.)

So in case anyone wants to join me or rebel with me and write something else, you're welcome to say hi, cheer me on, poke me with a candybar, or flee in horror when the time comes. ;)

It was a nice day.

It was a nice day.
And now for something entirely different.

(Set making frenzy, I know. I've been listening to a Pratchett audiobook, and I listen best with my hands occupied, so...)

I've been re-reading Good Omens, which is not only a book written by two of my favourie authors ever, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, but also by some of my favourie two people ever.
And it's hilarious and witty and I love it.

Apparently, it will be turned into a mini TV series in the next year or so (WHhhheeeeeeaaarfhjklsfl!!!), which is why I had to go and make a set for my dreamcast. To see if it worked out. Which I rather think it did.
As you see it's Benedict Cumberbatch as Aziraphale and Tom Hiddleston as Crowley.
Because WOULDN'T THEY BE JUST PERFECT?!

No need to mention that they are both incredibly adorable and lovely people and really good actors and also British, haha ;)
And I'm totally aboard the Hiddles-fanship. According to tumblr, the whole internet loves Hiddles, so I shouldn't have to explain that one.
(But I can, if you want me to, even if I don't see how anyone who has seen any serious interview with him in it and/or the Loki'd video can not die of a heartattack caused by utter amazement... ;) :D)

Last but not least, the darling Phee.

And now I'm of celebrating Henry's birthday by watching all the Charles Brandon scenes from the Tudors, and if I make it it through there, maybe Immortals. But I don't think my heart can take it.

I'm not really satisfied with them, but getting these dreads onto Christian Brylle and finding the right skin tone wasn't exactly easy.
Plus, I actually picture Sid walking about in patched-up cargoes and an undershirt, but I couldn't find something to work with, so he's in pilot attire.

And kittens. I'm still not sure if there are kittens aboard, my brain can't seem to adapt to the idea, but if they make it, I bet one of them is named Tybalt.
Again.

Also, Happy Birthday, Henry Cavill!
You bloody heartbreaker, you.

Roxeeey. I don't know why she holds on so stubbornly to that old last-name of her mum's.

Avengers-mania is now exploding all over the world, yay! And I'm so deep into it I have to daily remind myself that I cannot, repeat, I cannot afford to go see it a second time. It's really quite expensive, what with the 3D and the length and all.
But I really want to see it again, and I want all the plans for the helicarrier.

So instead I watched Captain America yesterday!
My friend, who saw it at the cinema, said it wasn't good, but I liked it quite a bit, actually. I mean there's such a promising display of dieselpunk-ish stuff (read: all the Hydra vehicles), and then there's Richard Armitage in it and Nat Dormer, and the German accents were hilarious and let's face it, Chris Evans looks quite nice in his tiny little shirt... ;)

I started making doll sets for my whole crew, partly because I found a nice overall for Phee on Pinterest and partly out of frustration because I can't seem to get my main plot together so I can start editing over with a clear goal in mind. Also I don't have any inpiration for anyhting else really.
So yeah.
